As part of the Paprika Training Afternoons, Paprika participants
will get the chance to attend a variety of 2-hour hands-on workshops
with professional artists. A chance to create new material, learn
the craft of theatre-making, explore the challenges and possibilities
of the creative process, and maximize their works’ exciting potential.
Examples of workshops – acting, physical theatre, collective creation,
image-based theatre, producing, theatre design, puppetry and mask
work. In addition to the workshops, Paprika participants from both the
Productions and Creator’s Unit will be strongly encouraged to show
an excerpt of their work-in-progress to the other Paprika Participants.
The regular sharing of work will foster a sense of community and
support and will also allow the participants to learn from and connect
with people outside their program or company. Five Paprika Workshop/Presentation
Afternoons will take place from November—March. Some of our past guest artists have included Morwyn Brebner, Dian Marie Bridge, Marjorie Chan, Anna Chatterton, Daryl Cloran, Lisa Codrington, Jennifer Capraru, Andrea Donaldson, Joanna Falck, Katherine Grainger, Brendan Healy, Elizabeth Helmers, Eda Holmes, David Jansen, Erica Kopyto, Sue LePage, Holly Lewis, Ruth Madoc-Jones, Weyni Mengesha, Hannah Moscovitch, Yvette Nolan, Marek Norman, Damiano Pietropaulo, Beatriz Pizano,Kim Purtell, Lisa Anne Ross, Erin Shields, Rachel Slaven, Kilby Smith-McGregor, Andrew Soren and Donna Michelle St. Bernar |
